Mulberry Cottage stands on Clamp Hill in Stanmore, on the northern edge of the London Borough of Harrow where the suburb meets the green belt. Clamp Hill runs along the top of Stanmore Common, with Bentley Priory Nature Reserve and the open country of the Hertfordshire border a short walk away. It is one of the leafiest corners of Greater London, a place of lanes, woodland and old houses rather than streets. Stanmore station, the northern terminus of the Jubilee line, is a short drive, with the shops and restaurants of Stanmore Broadway beside it. The M1 and A41 are close for journeys north.
