What cookies are

Cookies are small files a website saves on your device so that it can remember something between pages or visits. Your browser’s session storage works in a similar way and is cleared when you close the tab. This policy covers both.

Cookies we always use

These are strictly necessary, so they do not need your consent.

• wp_consent_statistics, wp_consent_statistics-anonymous and wp_consent_marketing remember whether you allowed or declined analytics, for 12 months. Without them we would have to ask you on every page.
• If you have a login to manage this website, WordPress sets the cookies needed to keep you signed in.

Analytics, only if you allow it

We use Google Analytics to understand which pages landlords and tenants find useful and how people get in touch with us. It tells us which pages are viewed, how visitors arrive (for example from a search engine, a link on another website or an AI assistant), approximate location at town or city level, the type of device and browser, and how our Valuation Tool and Licensing Tool are used.

If you allow it, Google sets _ga and _ga_* cookies, which last up to two years. We do not use this information for advertising and we do not sell it.

If you decline, Google Analytics runs in a restricted mode that sets no cookies and stores nothing that identifies you.

Our Valuation Tool and Licensing Tool

Both tools prepare an email in your own mail app, which you read and send yourself. At the end of that email we add a short line for our records: a reference number and how you found our website. If you allowed analytics, it also lists the pages you viewed on this visit, which we keep in your browser’s session storage until you close the tab.

This helps us see which parts of the website are useful. You can read the line before you send the email, and delete it if you prefer.

Who processes it

Google Analytics is provided by Google Ireland Limited on our behalf. Information may be processed in the United States under Google’s standard contractual clauses. It is kept for no longer than 14 months.

Changing your mind

You can change your cookie choice at any time, or use the Cookie Settings link at the bottom of any page. You can also delete cookies in your browser’s settings.
